Dubai RTA Embraces LiDAR Technology for Advancing Road Asset Management

The United Arab Emirates has vehemently denounced the violent assaults on the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps located near El Fasher in Darfur, as well as on the humanitarian teams and staff operating in that region.

These assaults have tragically resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of innocent individuals, representing a blatant infringement of international humanitarian law.

In a recent statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned all acts of aggression against those working in humanitarian aid, who dedicate their lives to assisting those in need. The statement emphasized that attacking relief workers is a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which ensures the safeguarding of medical personnel and rescue teams. It underlined the critical necessity of protecting these individuals and ensuring they are not targeted during conflicts.

Furthermore, the Ministry urged all involved parties—who disregard the profound suffering of the Sudanese population—to adhere to their responsibilities as outlined in international law, the Jeddah Declaration, and the collaborative initiatives under the Allied to Promote Life-Saving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) platform.

The Ministry also called on all factions to take prompt actions to safeguard civilians and to allow the urgent distribution of humanitarian assistance through all possible means, free from any hindrances.

It reiterated that no group has the authority to obstruct the provision of lifesaving support, highlighting that the manipulation of humanitarian work and assistance as a tool for warfare is unacceptable. In this context, the UAE urged the United Nations to prevent any combatant from misusing humanitarian aid for military or political gains.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the UAE’s stance advocating for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Sudan, underscoring the necessity for an immediate ceasefire and the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at addressing this critical crisis in collaboration with others.
