Authorities have reported that the number of injuries from the Al Nahda tower fire, which erupted on the morning of April 13, has risen to 19.
The Sharjah Police are currently looking into the origins of the fire that ignited on one of the upper floors of a 52-storey residential building home to over 1,500 residents from various nationalities.
At 11:31 AM on Sunday, reports of the blaze were received. The area was promptly secured, routes were opened for emergency services and ambulances, and response teams rushed to the scene.

In addition to police and ambulance services, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority was involved in ensuring a swift reaction. Tragically, five individuals lost their lives, and hundreds of residents were evacuated to safety. Those injured were promptly taken for medical care.
Later that evening, residents were gradually permitted to return to their homes, although access to floors above the 30th level remained restricted. The building, located near the Sahara Centre, is one of the tallest in the emirate.
The fatalities included four individuals who reportedly fell while trying to escape the flames, as well as a Pakistani man in his forties who succumbed to cardiac arrest, believed to have been induced by the distress of the situation.
Colonel Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al-Naor, Director General of the General Administration for Operations and Security Support, expressed his sympathies to the families affected by the tragedy and wished for the quick recovery of those hurt.
The criminal laboratory team has begun investigations to determine the cause of the fire, with specialized units conducting site inspections as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
