Indian Consulate in Dubai Provides Comprehensive Assistance Following Deaths of Two Expats

The Indian Consulate General in Dubai has announced that it is actively collaborating with local authorities and the Indian community to provide support following the tragic deaths of two workers from Telangana, India, in Dubai.

“We are saddened by the news of two Indian fatalities in Dubai. Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased. We are in touch with local authorities and community members to offer all necessary assistance,” the consulate stated in a communication.

The victims have been identified as Ashtapu Premsagar, aged 35, from Soan village in the Nirmal district, and Srinivas from Nizamabad district. They were reportedly assaulted on April 11 while working at a bakery in Dubai. In the same incident, another Indian, named Sagar, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, according to his wife.

Premsagar had been employed at the bakery for more than five years and is survived by his wife and two children. His family, yet to receive formal notification, has requested the Indian government to assist in repatriating his remains.

Indian Union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed his sorrow and shock regarding the incident. “I spoke with Hon’ble External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar regarding this matter, and he has committed to providing full support to the grieving families and facilitating the swift repatriation of the deceased,” he mentioned on X.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar also expressed his condolences, stating he had communicated with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officials and that the Indian consulate is coordinating with Dubai Police to accelerate both the investigation and the repatriation process.

“We are committed to providing all necessary assistance for the expeditious return of the victims to their families and stand by them during this difficult time,” he added. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths is ongoing. The Indian consulate has pledged to keep monitoring the situation and extend the required support.

Relevant authorities have been contacted for further comments on the incident.
