India: Collision Between Mini Bus and Indigo Aircraft at Bengaluru Airport

A minor bus incident took place at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru when it collided with a stationary IndiGo aircraft, as confirmed by an airport official in a statement this past Sunday, April 20.

The bus, which is operated by an external ground handling company, struck the “undercarriage of the non-operational aircraft,” according to the airport spokesperson.

The occurrence was reported around 12:15 PM on April 18, leading to a prompt activation of safety measures by the airport authorities, who also coordinated with relevant parties.

“The safety and security of our passengers, airline partners, and airport staff is our top priority,” the spokesperson emphasized.

IndiGo Airlines also issued a statement acknowledging the incident.

“We are aware of the situation at Bengaluru airport involving a parked IndiGo aircraft and a third-party ground vehicle. Investigations are currently underway, and appropriate actions will be taken as necessary,” stated IndiGo Airlines.
