UAE Unveils Coastal Development in Downtown Umm Al Quwain Designed for 150,000 Inhabitants

A significant new coastal project, named “Downtown Umm Al Quwain,” was officially introduced on Friday. Authorities presented this ambitious initiative, a vast 25 million square foot master plan aimed at transforming the urban and economic framework of the emirate.

This development will showcase a continuous coastline extending 11 kilometers, which includes 7 kilometers of natural beaches and recreational parks. Crafted as a mixed-use hub, the project is segmented into three primary zones: North Beach, Trade Centre, and South Beach. These sections will incorporate residential neighborhoods, commercial facilities, office environments, hotels, and various leisure attractions.

A standout element of the initiative is the Trade Centre, a free zone covering 15 million square feet that will operate under a distinct legal structure. According to the Government of Umm Al Quwain, this center is expected to evolve into a premier global hub for business, cultural interaction, and investment prospects.

The launch announcement occurred at an official event presided over by Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, the Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain and Chairman of the Executive Council. In his address, he emphasized the significance of substantial investment projects in bolstering the emirate’s economy and enticing new commercial ventures.

The development of “Downtown Umm Al Quwain” is in collaboration with Sobha Realty, with the initial phase comprising residential units, office spaces, and hospitality services. Once finalized, the project is anticipated to accommodate over 150,000 residents.

<pApproximately half of the entire development area will be allocated for green spaces, walking paths, and parks, with an infrastructure plan focused on promoting environmental sustainability.

The Government of Umm Al Quwain characterized this initiative as a pivotal move towards establishing Umm Al Quwain as a competitive and appealing destination for investors, residents, and tourists alike.
