Quality Showcase of Mohammed Bin Rashid Library at the Exhibition

The Mohammed bin Rashid Library is participating in the 34th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which kicks off today and runs until May 5, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC). The library’s participation features a rich program comprised of a variety of panel discussions, workshops, poetry evenings, and interactive activities.

In addition to showcasing its key initiatives, facilities, and services—including the restoration center, its membership system with various tiers—the library will highlight its collection of scientific research papers and translated international novels.

Dr. Mohamed Salem Al Mazrouei, board member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, stated, “Our presence at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair embodies our ambitious vision to transform knowledge into a bridge connecting the past and the present. Through our participation, we aim to offer an exceptional cultural experience that inspires minds and opens new avenues for creativity, reflecting our commitment to supporting the cultural landscape at a national level while empowering future generations to build a future based on knowledge as the foundation for innovation and sustainable development.”

He added, “We are keen for our participation in this global cultural event to serve as a vital platform for interacting with intellectual and literary elites, promoting civilizational dialogue among cultures, and highlighting our initiatives and projects that focus on innovation in knowledge dissemination and the use of modern technologies to benefit readers and researchers.”

Furthermore, he noted, “The fair represents an ongoing annual opportunity to expand our partnerships with local and international institutions and enhances the library’s role as a comprehensive knowledge hub that aligns with the aspirations of the knowledge community in the UAE and the region.”

At its booth, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library will showcase key initiatives and facilities such as the restoration center and methods for preserving rare manuscripts and books. It will also introduce visitors to the treasures exhibition, which features over 300 rare items, including books, atlases, and ancient manuscripts, some dating back to the 13th century.

In addition, the library team will provide visitors of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair with insights about its multi-tier membership system, digital services, and notable publications including scientific research papers and translated international novels. For the first time, the library will host a series of expert panel discussions and workshops, including:

“Post-Reading: How Book Clubs Reshape Public Taste?”, “Protecting Creativity”, “Myths and Symbols in Caribbean Literature”, and “Behind the Mic”, a seminar introducing the Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award and its participation mechanisms.

The lineup of events includes a session titled “The Writer’s Voice and the Publisher’s Echo,” which explores the relationship between authors and publishers, as well as a session on “Translation in the Digital Age” to discuss the transformations occurring in this field in light of artificial intelligence.

The pavilion will also host two poetry evenings featuring prominent Arab poets, along with knowledge contests throughout the fair days. Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the Mohammed bin Rashid Library’s booth at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, located in Hall 10, Stand No. 9A05, to discover its enriching program and take part in cultural and recreational activities.
