The Firdaus Orchestra, a unique initiative from Expo City Dubai and the first all-female orchestra in the United Arab Emirates, is set to conclude its inaugural season of the “Firdaus Nights” concert series with a spectacular performance celebrating global opera music, following a series of successful concerts.
The final concert, scheduled for this Saturday at the Al Wasl Plaza, will feature three internationally recognized opera singers, including Emirati artist Fatima Al Hashimi, Serbian vocalist Ana Kovacevic, and Russian soprano Alina Vasilieva.
Established with over 50 talented musicians from 24 different nationalities, the Firdaus Orchestra launched the “Firdaus Nights” program in November of last year. The series kicked off with a concert showcasing a selection of classical music pieces, followed by another in January to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The third event took place during Ramadan over two days, where attendees enjoyed timeless Arabic compositions along with a special performance by “The Ayoub Sisters.”
These concerts have attracted considerable interest from a diverse audience of various nationalities and ages, aligning with the initiative’s objectives to promote orchestral music culture within the community and inspire rising generations to engage with and appreciate this refined genre of music.
