Sharjah’s Children Organize a Fantasy World

The Sharjah Children’s Foundation, part of the Quarter Century Foundation for the Development of Leaders and Innovators, has launched an interactive program called “Fantasy World” aimed at children aged 9 to 12. The initiative targets 480 young participants, offering a comprehensive experience that combines learning and play through a variety of carefully designed activities to enhance creativity, storytelling skills, communication, and teamwork.

The program began with a two-day workshop for 30 children at the Al-Halwan Child Center, where attendees were divided into groups led by members from “Sajaya Girls of Sharjah” and “Nashet Sharjah,” showcasing the collaborative spirit among the Quarter Century institutions. The first day’s activities featured an icebreaker workshop where children creatively crafted imaginary animals using various parts, fostering their coordination and teamwork skills. This was followed by a workshop on “Designing a Fantasy World,” where participants created maps of imaginary realms, envisioned unique heroes and legends, and concluded the day with an “Interactive Storytelling” session, igniting their imagination through plot creation using props like hats and magic wands, resulting in an experience brimming with creativity.

On the second day, the focus was on adventure and excitement, with a “Treasure Hunt” activity that allowed children to navigate through different stations to solve puzzles and gather clues, enhancing their logical thinking and collaboration abilities. Participants also engaged in a “Character Building” experience, designing characters inspired by their stories and donning costumes that represented those unique personas. The program culminated in a theatrical presentation on the “Fantasy Stage,” where children performed scenes that illustrated the tales they had woven from their imaginations, concluding on a highly creative note.

It’s worth noting that the organization of the Fantasy World program highlights the Sharjah Children’s Foundation’s commitment to nurturing children’s creativity and life skills through engaging and interactive methods. Due to the positive reception of the program, it will be included in the upcoming summer camp, expanding to encompass 12 children’s centers.
