Colombian Culture Minister: Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit Strengthens Global Cooperation

The Honorable Yennay Kadamani, Minister of Culture, Arts, and Knowledge of Colombia, affirmed that the “Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit 2025” serves as a crucial platform for discussing cultural identity issues, the challenges that distinguish various cultures, and the connections that bind them. She highlighted that the summit represents a valuable opportunity to enhance cultural cooperation among nations and deepen understanding among diverse populations.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, she noted that Latin American countries, including Colombia, share many fundamental cultural values with the United Arab Emirates. She emphasized that this summit reflects the importance of fostering communication between different cultures.

Furthermore, she stated, “What unites us is far greater than what divides us,” stressing that cultural events provide a chance to broaden mutual understanding and promote a shared cultural awareness among people.

Regarding the UAE’s experience, Minister Kadamani praised the significant development the country has undergone in a relatively short period. She regarded the UAE as a model for constructing a rich and diverse cultural identity and expressed her hope for the continuation of this progress, predicting that cultural growth will enhance the UAE’s stature on both regional and global stages in the near future.

She also asserted that culture remains a key tool for achieving peace and harmony among peoples, indicating that cultural forums are fundamental to strengthening cooperation between nations on both cultural and humanitarian fronts.

Moreover, she referred to the “Arts for Peace” program managed by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, which aims to integrate arts and culture into schools and educational institutions nationwide.

She stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between the relevant ministries of education and culture, stating that such cooperation is vital for bolstering the role of the arts in shaping the cultural identity of youth and developing their creative capabilities in an environment of peace and coexistence.
