Trump Confirms Dismissal of His National Security Advisor and Appoints Marco Rubio as Successor

On Thursday, President Donald Trump announced the dismissal of his National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, due to a leak in a chat group. However, he also revealed that Waltz will be appointed as the ambassador to the United Nations.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump noted, “Mike Waltz has worked diligently to prioritize our nation’s interests. I am confident he will continue to do so in his new role.” He also mentioned that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will temporarily assume the responsibilities of the National Security Advisor.
