The Indian army confirmed on Friday that the Pakistani armed forces launched “multiple attacks” utilizing drones and other munitions along India’s western border on Thursday and continued into Friday morning.
The two nations have been engaged in clashes since India’s airstrikes on various locations in Pakistan on Wednesday, which were described as “terrorist camps,” a response to a deadly attack in the disputed Kashmir region last month, for which New Delhi has accused Islamabad of complicity.
Pakistan has refuted these allegations; however, both countries have exchanged gunfire across the border, including drone and rocket strikes, leading to around 40 casualties due to the ongoing violence.
The Indian army stated that Pakistani forces have resorted to “numerous ceasefire violations” along the Line of Control in Kashmir, a region both countries claim but only partially control.
Moreover, the military asserted, “We countered drone attacks and responded appropriately to ceasefire breaches,” indicating that any “malicious plans” will be met with “force.”
No response has yet been issued from Pakistan regarding India’s statement.
