This progress precedes a visit by a senior UAE cabinet delegation to Bangladesh, scheduled for later this month, which aims to strengthen collaboration in vital areas such as labor, trade, and investment.
UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh, Abdulla Ali Al Hmoudi, engaged with Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy Lutfey Siddiqi in Dhaka to address various bilateral matters.
A significant advancement was the reactivation of the UAE Ministry of Human Resources’ online portal for skilled employment visas. This has already facilitated the issuance of visas for professionals, including marketing managers and hospitality staff. Additionally, 500 visas for Bangladeshi security personnel have been approved, with another 1,000 pending issuance.
“The UAE has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing mobility for Bangladeshi workers and professionals,” stated Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Press Secretary for the Chief Adviser.
The UAE Ambassador commended Siddiqi’s active diplomatic efforts, highlighting his participation in numerous recent ministerial meetings aimed at simplifying visa processes and bolstering economic ties.
The UAE has also pledged to remain flexible regarding humanitarian and compassionate visa requests presented by Bangladeshi officials.
In light of these advancements, Special Envoy Siddiqi expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prompt assistance and steadfast support. He also pointed out the encouraging progression of talks concerning a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), noting that both countries have agreed on the essential terms.
Officials indicated that these recent measures are part of a broader strategy to strengthen bilateral relations and create enhanced opportunities for Bangladeshi citizens in the UAE.
