Fahd Mohammed Wali Kermastaji, the Director of Institutional Communication at the Rabdan Academy, highlighted that the academy’s participation in the Global Police Summit underscores its commitment to enhancing the security and police education framework and developing national capabilities in emergency preparedness, safety, and security. This aligns with global trends in the fifth industrial revolution and the summit’s theme, “Designing the Future of Policing.”
Established in 2013 through a decree by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the academy offers a variety of academic and professional programs, including diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees, in addition to over 100 specialized training courses in security. The academy also operates a campus as part of the Armed Forces University, which trains new recruits through a program that combines academic qualification with military training.
Kermastaji explained that the academy utilizes cutting-edge technology in security education, such as virtual reality systems for training students on crime scene management and complex criminal case analysis. Additionally, artificial intelligence is employed to interpret event sequences and support intelligence analysis, demonstrating the academy’s proactive approach to integrating AI into its curriculum, in line with national objectives to prepare local talent for future challenges.
Moreover, the academy maintains an extensive network of strategic and academic partnerships with the Ministries of Defense and Interior, Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Interpol, and other global security entities, featuring a team of experts from over 40 nationalities. Recently, it inaugurated the Rabdan Center for Security and Defense, a research institution specializing in security studies, defense, and future technologies.
Currently, the academy boasts over 900 enrolled students from various nationalities, the majority of whom are affiliated with military organizations and continue their studies as civilians. The employment rate among graduates exceeds 96%, reflecting the confidence that security institutions have in the academy’s outputs.
Additionally, the academy offers student exchange opportunities with international educational institutions specializing in security, enhancing students’ experiences and opening global prospects.
In this context, Kermastaji emphasized the academy’s dedication to contributing to the development of the security and policing system at both local and regional levels by training skilled personnel ready to ensure community safety and stability.
