Abdullah Al Hamid: Our Wise Leadership Recognizes the Essential Role of Conscious Media in Supporting Development

His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Batti Al Hamed, the Chairman of the National Media Office and the UAE Media Council, affirmed that enhancing the national media landscape is an ongoing process rooted in the guidance of wise leadership that recognizes the essential role of informed media as a key partner in supporting development and reinforcing national identity values.

This statement was made during a meeting with the editors-in-chief of local media institutions held at the Influencers’ Hub in the Emirates Towers in Dubai. The discussion focused on the future of media work and strengthening partnerships among media entities to produce meaningful national content that reflects the values of the nation and aligns with community aspirations.

At the onset of the meeting, he praised the efforts of the editorial leaders in establishing a media discourse that showcases the nation’s achievements and advanced civilization model. He stressed the necessity of the upcoming phase, which demands greater integration among various media platforms, alongside investments in national talents and creative content to increase the competitiveness of national media on both regional and international levels.

The meeting addressed several issues related to enhancing the media’s role in supporting stability and development and reviewed challenges connected to the digital media landscape, particularly in light of rising misinformation and distortion campaigns on social media platforms.

In this context, he emphasized the importance of crafting a cohesive national media narrative that authentically represents the reality and values of the UAE, urging adherence to credibility and professionalism in reporting facts.

He confirmed the National Media Office’s commitment to continuing coordination with different media organizations and intensifying efforts to establish a progressive institutional media model capable of confronting challenges, anticipating the future, and bolstering the UAE’s standing regionally and internationally.

He called for the formulation of national media strategies that align with the directions of wise leadership and adapt to technological and digital transformations, highlighting the media’s role in combating rumors and countering negative influences on public opinion. He emphasized the importance of enhancing community awareness through real stories told from the field.

Additionally, he discussed the need for a media message that addresses both domestic and international audiences and embodies the humanitarian values that distinguish the UAE as a destination for tolerance and justice. He urged emphasizing these values in national media discourse to accurately present the true image of the UAE to the world.

For their part, the editors-in-chief of local media organizations expressed their appreciation for His Excellency’s effort to open direct communication channels with media leaders, emphasizing the significance of such meetings in unifying efforts and enhancing collaboration. They praised His Excellency’s call for establishing professional standards, empowering youth, and developing media content that aligns with the state’s aspirations for the coming phase.
