On Sunday, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Israel is open to the possibility of “ending the conflict” as part of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, provided it entails the exclusion of Hamas and the demilitarization of the region.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s office noted, “Currently, our negotiation team in Doha is exploring every possible opportunity to reach an agreement, whether it aligns with Ambassador (Steve) Tewtkof’s plan or as part of ending the hostilities.” It emphasized that any agreement must include the release of all hostages, the removal of the Palestinian movement from the area, and the establishment of a demilitarized zone in Gaza.
