A Norwegian man narrowly escaped a significant incident involving a container ship measuring 135 meters, which ran aground early Thursday morning near his home. Remarkably, the man remained undisturbed by the event and did not wake up until a concerned neighbor alerted him.
In the early hours of the morning, for reasons that are still unclear, the vessel named “NCL Saltin” ended up in the garden of Johan Hilberg, just a few meters from his house in a strait close to Trondheim, Norway.
However, this occurrence was not enough to rouse Hilberg from his slumber; he only opened his eyes to the sound of his doorbell ringing and repeated calls from his anxious neighbor. Johan Hilberg recounted to Norwegian channel TV 2, “The doorbell rang at a time when I really dislike answering the door.”
His neighbor, Justine Jorgensen, reported that he was awakened around 5 AM by the sound of a boat heading “full speed ashore” and quickly rushed to Hilberg’s residence.
