The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi has announced the successful completion of one of the largest local seed planting initiatives in natural reserves for the 2025 season. Approximately 6.5 million seeds have been distributed using advanced drone technology, specifically designed for this purpose, in collaboration with Dendra Global.
This initiative aligns with the agency’s efforts to promote the sustainability of natural plant diversity and enhance the condition of vegetation and pastures within Abu Dhabi by employing the latest innovative techniques in environmental programs.
The program is carried out by a specialized team of skilled professionals and young national talents, relying on precise scientific studies to assess the state of vegetation in the reserves, while considering soil characteristics and their compatibility with the target plant species.
Ahmed Al Hashemi, the Executive Director of the Terrestrial and Marine Biodiversity Sector at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, stated that the agency has successfully implemented one of the largest seed planting programs in the emirate within a remarkably short time frame, in accordance with Abu Dhabi’s climate change strategy.
