The Arab Media Summit 2025 commences today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, organized by the Dubai Press Club. The event aims to establish Dubai as the media capital of the Arab world, under the vision and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with the directions from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
This ambitious summit focuses on adapting to the changing media and political landscapes both regionally and globally. It will serve as a platform for change and influence, acting as a strategic partner in fostering Arab development and sustainability while shaping the future of the sector.
The current edition of the summit boasts an impressive turnout, featuring 8,000 participants, over 175 sessions, 300 speakers, and more than 35 specialized workshops led by global media companies and platforms. Additionally, over 200 notable media figures from the Arab world will be in attendance.
The summit will host a selection of prominent thinkers and authors, who will present their latest works that have resonated deeply within cultural and intellectual circles both locally and internationally. Furthermore, more than 5 agreements and partnerships with global media organizations will be signed.
Since its inception, the summit has recognized media as a soft power with a profound impact on shaping societal awareness and driving progress. It has emphasized the importance of leveraging media for development projects, not just through news coverage, but by creating content that elevates public taste, fosters a sense of belonging, and contributes to the development of educated, productive, and conscious individuals.
The activities of the summit embody the visionary leadership’s call to transcend traditional media frameworks, progressing towards advanced digital media that can effectively engage younger generations with contemporary language and project a positive image of the Arab world on international platforms, reflecting the aspirations and ambitions of Arab peoples toward leadership.
In light of the fundamental transformations taking place within global media, the Arab Media Summit continues to feature influential and active personalities who will explore the future of media. This includes spotlighting emerging technologies, changes in media consumption patterns, and the necessity to modernize storytelling techniques to meet the needs of a new audience. The event serves as an annual opportunity to reaffirm the role of media as a means of enlightenment and positive influence, rather than merely a tool for reporting events.
