ADNOC has broadened its educational initiative in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by launching the “Future of Energy and Artificial Intelligence for Schools” challenge, part of the ADNOC STEM FOR LIFE platform. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ skills within the country and prepare them to effectively utilize artificial intelligence tools and advanced technologies.
The final round of the challenge took place yesterday at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, attended by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, who is also the Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its subsidiaries. Other notable attendees included Her Excellency Sara bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of Education, Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Energy Department, Her Excellency Hajar Ahmed Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Human Education and Development Council, and Khalaf Abdullah Rahma Al Hamadi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund, along with several ADNOC officials.
During the event, ADNOC, in partnership with AIQ, presented the ENERGYai solution— the world’s first artificial intelligence system tailored for the energy sector— to the audience, which comprised students, parents, and teachers.
The challenge was launched in January 2025, involving 14,500 students from 351 schools across the nation. A total of 896 educators assisted and supported students in designing, constructing, and presenting innovative AI-driven solutions across three main themes: creating a significant and practical impact, proposing ambitious and innovative ideas for reshaping the future, or enhancing community engagement.
