The National Institute of Meteorology in Tunisia announced today that a seismic event occurred in the sea, measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale, off the coast of Sousse province in the eastern part of the country.
The earthquake was detected by monitoring stations at 6:21 AM local time near the coast of the Hirakla municipality.
No damage was reported as a result of the tremor, and residents along the shore did not feel it.
