China Warns the U.S. Against Provocations Over Taiwan
China issued a stern warning to the United States on Saturday, urging it to avoid escalating tensions regarding Taiwan. The warning follows remarks made by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during a security forum held in Singapore.
In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that the U.S. should not use the Taiwan issue as a bargaining chip to contain China and must refrain from provocative actions. The ministry also confirmed that it had lodged formal protests with Washington concerning Hegseth’s comments.
