EU and UAE Launch Talks on Pioneering Free Trade Agreement

The International Humanitarian Affairs Council has released a documentary that highlights the humanitarian efforts and initiatives undertaken by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to assist those in Gaza affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The film shares real stories from individuals, representing thousands who have received aid from the UAE in its historical humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people.

Titled “Hope Remains,” the documentary was aired on the global Discovery Channel, showcasing the international recognition of the UAE’s ongoing leadership in assisting the residents of Gaza. As of November, the UAE has contributed 42% of the total humanitarian aid provided to the region since October 2023, amounting to $828 million.

This documentary encapsulates the values of generosity and brotherhood that characterize the UAE and its people. It features narratives from beneficiaries of UAE initiatives and interviews with workers involved in the humanitarian journey, presenting unique scenes that illustrate the transformation in the lives of many who have benefited from aid. It highlights not only their health and psychological improvement but also their journeys from despair during wartime to renewed hope, all through a storytelling approach that blends experience and narration.

The International Humanitarian Affairs Council plans to release “Hope Remains” in both international and national versions, available in Arabic and English, across its social media accounts and on national television channels throughout June.

This film aligns with the Council’s mission to showcase the humanitarian endeavors of various UAE organizations working in humanitarian fields, recognizing their vital role in conveying the UAE’s message of humanity, kinship, and support from allies and friends worldwide.

It is worth noting that last year, the International Humanitarian Affairs Council launched “In the Lead,” a series of short documentary films that spotlight individuals working and volunteering in relief and humanitarian initiatives conducted by UAE organizations. These films, which aired on national television and digital platforms, illustrate the contributions made towards assisting the Palestinian people and enabling initiatives to achieve their goals.

The stories presented in this documentary series highlight the cohesive social fabric of the UAE, founded on values of goodness, solidarity, and humanitarian cooperation with friends and allies in times of hardship and crisis.

Following the guidance of its wise leadership, the UAE continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents of Gaza, striving to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable populations, particularly children, who make up nearly half of the region’s population. UAE humanitarian teams are racing to offer whatever is necessary to achieve this goal, reflecting the UAE’s supportive stance and its longstanding commitment to assist allies in times of crisis.
