The International Humanitarian Affairs Council has released a documentary film highlighting the humanitarian efforts and initiatives undertaken by the United Arab Emirates to assist the residents of Gaza affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The film features real-life stories that represent thousands who have received aid from the UAE in its historic humanitarian role in support of the Palestinian people.
Titled “Hope Remains,” the documentary premiered on the global Discovery Channel, showcasing the international recognition of the UAE’s leading and continuous role in supporting the people of Gaza. As of November, the UAE had provided 42% of the total humanitarian aid to the region since October 2023, amounting to $828 million.
The documentary reflects the values of generosity and solidarity that characterize the UAE and its people, offering insight into the experiences of individuals benefiting from UAE initiatives. Viewers will see interviews with humanitarian workers and unprecedented scenes illustrating the transformation in the lives of many recipients of aid, focusing on their health and emotional recovery. This storytelling approach combines personal accounts with narrative elements, revealing the challenges faced during wartime and the renewed hope experienced afterwards.
The International Humanitarian Affairs Council plans to release “Hope Remains” in both international and national versions in Arabic and English across its social media channels and on national television networks throughout June.
This film aligns with the Council’s mission to highlight the humanitarian efforts provided by various UAE entities, acknowledging their vital role in conveying the humanitarian message of the UAE, founded on brotherhood and support from friends and allies around the world.
Notably, last year, the International Humanitarian Affairs Council launched “On the Frontlines,” a series of short documentaries that spotlight individuals working and volunteering in UAE-led humanitarian initiatives within the UAE, Egypt, and Gaza. These segments showcased contributions to alleviate the plight of the Palestinian people and enable initiatives to achieve their objectives, shared through national television and digital platforms.
The documentary series emphasizes the strong social fabric of the UAE, based on upholding values of good, unity, and humanitarian solidarity with brothers and friends during times of hardship and crisis.
Under the guidance of its leadership, the UAE continues to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, demonstrating its commitment to alleviating suffering among the most vulnerable populations, particularly children who make up nearly half of the region’s residents. UAE humanitarian teams are actively working to fulfill this objective, reflecting the nation’s supportive stance during crises.
