The Office of Hajj Affairs of the United Arab Emirates has announced the commencement of the departure of UAE pilgrims and various Hajj campaigns from airports across the country to Saudi Arabia. This announcement coincides with the activation of the second phase of the approved medical procedures for managing the health of pilgrims during their stay in the holy lands for Hajj.
The office indicated that the first phase of these medical procedures was executed within the UAE, which involved coordination with campaign doctors to create comprehensive lists detailing the health conditions of all participants. This included submissions for those with chronic illnesses, senior citizens, pregnant women, and individuals with disabilities.
Additionally, it was clarified that the system requires campaign doctors to conduct awareness and educational workshops tailored to the health status of each pilgrim. They are also responsible for documenting these conditions through updated medical reports, ensuring the availability and quality of medications, and verifying that all individuals have received the appropriate vaccinations.
The office emphasized that the second phase, which began today, involves ongoing monitoring by the medical committee within the Hajj Affairs Office. This will include communication with campaign doctors to verify the effectiveness of the procedures implemented before the pilgrims begin their religious rites.
As the pilgrims start their journey to Mecca, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, the medical committee will collaborate with the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia to leverage the various facilities and services provided by Saudi officials.
The office also revealed details of the third phase of the medical system, which will commence once the movement towards the holy sites begins. This phase will include the establishment of specialized clinics for women and men in Mina, deployment of mobile medical teams between campaigns and tents, activation of hotlines for pilgrims and campaign doctors to address urgent medical inquiries, as well as the monitoring role of field inspection teams tasked with ensuring the implementation of medical standards in each campaign.
