The Communications, Space, and Technology Authority has released data regarding the performance of communication networks in Mecca and the holy sites on the Day of Arafah, which corresponds to the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, 1446 AH. The total number of calls made reached 18.3 million, with 15.9 million being local calls and 2.4 million international calls, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
In terms of mobile internet metrics, statistics indicate that the average mobile internet speed was 288 Mbps, reflecting a 15% increase compared to the same day last year. Additionally, the average daily data consumption per individual was 1,278 MB, exceeding the global average by 29 times.
It is noteworthy that the telecommunications and technology sector is meeting high consumption demands with top-notch quality standards, as per the leadership’s expectations. The sector provides high download speeds and ensures smooth connectivity for local and international calls made by the pilgrims.
