Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation
Samuel Nartey George, the Minister responsible for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has promised improvements in telecommunications throughout Ghana.
This commitment follows the recent signing of a major $1 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) aimed at creating the Ghana-UAE Innovation Hub.
In a statement shared on his X account on June 6, 2025, George emphasized the significance of this agreement and how it aims to reshape Ghana’s digital ecosystem.
The Innovation Hub is anticipated to significantly enhance both the reliability and performance of telecommunication services, which have struggled for some time.
While he expresses optimism, the minister recognized that the benefits from this agreement will unfold over time.
“I am dedicated to my promises regarding data. However, the issues stemming from 8 years of poor management cannot be resolved in just 4 months. We are making consistent strides, and I am confident improvements will be evident soon,” he mentioned.

Happy Eid!
It’s interesting to compare agreements made by governments with those involving private enterprises.
Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but my Ministry recently inked a $1 billion deal with the UAE for the Ghana-UAE Innovation Hub.
I am committed to addressing data issues… https://t.co/ROfF1Te8AV— Sam ‘Dzata’ George 🦁🇬🇭 (@samgeorgegh) June 6, 2025
