Hamdan bin Mohammed Celebrates Eid al-Adha Prayer at Zabeel Mosque in Dubai

This morning, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, attended the Eid al-Adha prayers at the Grand Zabeel Mosque in Dubai.

Joining him were Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Sheikh Hashr bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Foundation, alongside several other dignitaries, officials, and a large gathering of worshippers.

During the prayers, Sheikh Hamdan and the attendees listened to the Eid sermon delivered by Dr. Omar Al Khateeb, the mosque’s Imam, who spoke on the theme “Our Eid is Sincerity.” He highlighted the significance of Eid al-Adha as an occasion to celebrate the noble values brought by Islam, particularly the value of sincerity. He stated, “Sincerity is a profound spiritual and national value that we celebrate during this festive occasion, in the spirit of pilgrimage, which embodies intention and purity. Sincerity is akin to the refining of gold from impurities and the filtration of water from sediments. The greatest form of sincerity is being sincere to God, which forms the foundation of worship, embodies piety, and opens the door to acceptance. When sincerity inhabits our actions, it revives them; when it intertwines with our speech, it purifies it; and when it accompanies our intentions, it elevates them.”

The sermon emphasized that “Sincerity is the essence of worship and the core of values; it is the source of good morals and nobility. It is the faithful guardian of rights and duties. Thus, it’s no wonder that one of the highest expressions of sincerity is dedication to one’s homeland. Those who genuinely love their country will serve it diligently, uphold its good reputation, comply with its laws, embrace its traditions, cherish its heritage, contribute positively to its development, and spare no effort to defend its integrity and preserve its achievements, praying for its prosperity both in private and public.”

At the conclusion, the Imam prayed to God to safeguard the United Arab Emirates, its leadership, and its people, invoking blessings upon the nation and the wider Muslim world. He asked God Almighty to grant success to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and his deputies, along with the Crown Prince and his brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as the members of the Supreme Council of the Union and their Crown Princes, wishing them all continued health and well-being, and guidance in their endeavors for the good of the country and its citizens.
