Who Are the Six Scientists Killed in the Israeli Attack on Iran?

Six nuclear scientists were killed during extensive airstrikes conducted by Israel on Iran on Friday, according to local media reports from Tehran.

As reported by the Tasnim news agency, the deceased scientists are: “Abdolhamid Minushahr, Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari, Amir Hossein Faqihi, Motlabi Zadeh, Mohammad Mahdi Tehranji, and Fereydoun Abbasi.” These individuals lost their lives as a result of the Israeli attacks.

Abbasi is a prominent figure in Iran’s nuclear sector and has previously served as the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization. He survived an assassination attempt in 2010 when a bomb was attached to his car, a plot that Iran attributed to U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies.

Tehranji was known for his role as the president of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran.

On Friday, Israel launched a series of strikes targeting military and nuclear sites in Iran, including the Natanz facility, resulting in the deaths of significant military leaders. Iran’s supreme leader has vowed that the Israeli state will face a “bitter and painful fate.”

Reports from Iranian media confirmed the deaths of key military figures, including Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, along with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami and senior commander Gholam Ali Rashid.
