Billionaire Elon Musk expressed regret today over some posts he made last week about US President Donald Trump because they “crossed the line”.
Trump and Musk began exchanging insults last week on social media, with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO describing the comprehensive tax and spending bill proposed by the president as “disgusting and despicable”.
Trump said on Saturday that their relationship was over, but since then he has said he would have no problem if Musk called him and wished him well.
Musk wrote in a post on his own platform “Regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. Crossed the line” without specifying which posts he was referring to.
Tesla’s shares rose by 2.44 percent on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange following Musk’s post.
Since the dispute began, Musk has deleted some posts criticizing Trump from social media platforms, including one that indicated his support for holding the president accountable.
Sources close to Musk have said that his anger is starting to fade and they believe he may want to repair his relationship with Trump.
