The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, has stated that the agency is closely monitoring a concerning situation in Iran following a series of airstrikes conducted by Israel on Friday morning, which particularly affected the Natanz nuclear facility located in central Iran.
In a post on X, Grossi mentioned that “the IAEA is keeping a close watch on the extremely alarming situation in Iran.” He confirmed that “the Natanz site is among the targeted locations,” and added that “the agency is in communication with Iranian authorities regarding radiation levels and is also in contact with our inspectors present in the country.
