His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in phone discussions yesterday with Dr. Nawaf Salam, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs of India, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Antonio Tajani, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, and Asaad al-Shabani, the Syrian Foreign Minister, regarding the recent regional developments following the Israeli military actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The conversations focused on the implications of the current situation for the security and stability of the region, as well as for regional peace and security.
The discussions also emphasized the importance of supporting diplomatic solutions and dialogue to address crises, which contribute to maintaining regional and international security and stability.
During the call with the Lebanese Prime Minister, His Highness highlighted the need to prevent the escalation of conflict and to work towards de-escalation.
Both leaders reiterated the significance of employing diplomatic solutions and constructive dialogue as means to tackle crises, thus ensuring the stability of the region and safeguarding the security of its people.
Furthermore, His Highness and Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar addressed ways to enhance efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and preventing the expansion of conflict in the area. They also discussed the critical role of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving outstanding issues and supporting all initiatives aimed at preserving regional and international peace and security.
