Latest Updates on WhatsApp Features: Discover What’s New in Your App

WhatsApp has rolled out a variety of new functionalities and enhancements across its Chats, Calls, and Updates sections, aiming to improve user connections and interactions on the service.

Chats: Improved expression and versatility

The Chats section, celebrated for its secure and encrypted messaging with friends and family, is now equipped with several innovative tools. The introduction of animated emojis adds a lively touch to interactions, as highlighted in a WhatsApp blog.

Note: Effective July 1, WhatsApp Business will implement significant pricing adjustments.

Users can now utilize an animated sticker maker that allows the creation of animated stickers from favorite videos, elevating personal customization. Additionally, new avatar social stickers can be shared in individual chats, provided the recipients have avatars and are saved contacts.

Creating groups has become significantly streamlined; users can initiate a group by entering just a name and add members later through direct invitations or a shared link. The process for sending multiple images or videos has also seen enhancements, allowing users to attach a shared caption, with options for recipients to respond to the entire collection or individual items.

Calls: Fun filters and effects enhance video interactions

In the Calls section, WhatsApp now features six new filters and six entertaining effects for video calls and photos. These updates aim to make visual communication more vibrant and engaging.

This section also remains a central point for making calls, sharing call links, and reviewing call history.

Updates: Increased control over status and channels

The Updates area, which contains Status and Channels, now offers more interactive features. Photo polls enable channel administrators to associate images with each poll option, enhancing the visual aspect of polls.

Users can also star preferred channel updates for quick access later. Furthermore, WhatsApp now allows group mentions in Status updates, ensuring that all group members receive notifications in the chat and have the ability to reshare the Status.

WhatsApp invites users to stay alert, as there are more features and enhancements on the horizon.
