Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, sent a written message to Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, regarding the bilateral relations between the two nations.
This message was delivered by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting with Prime Minister Carney at the start of his official visit to Ottawa, Canada’s capital.
During their discussion, both leaders explored ways to enhance the bilateral relations between the UAE and Canada, aiming to expand cooperation that benefits mutual interests and fosters prosperity for both countries’ populations.
They also talked about collaborative opportunities in several sectors including the economy, trade, energy, artificial intelligence, and education.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the strong friendship and growing partnership between the UAE and Canada, built on fruitful and constructive cooperation that aligns with both countries’ future aspirations and supports their efforts towards sustainable development.
The two sides reviewed current regional and international developments, exchanging views on various issues, while Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of collective efforts to maintain global peace and security.
Present at the meeting were several officials including Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Saeed Mubarak Al Haijri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, along with Abdul Rahman Ali Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Canada.
