Sharjah Charity Initiative Provides 116,000 Relief Packages for “Compassion for Gaza” and “The Noble Knight 3

Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Charity Association, stated that participating in the campaign “Compassion for Gaza” and the operation “Brave Knight 3” is both a religious and humanitarian duty. This initiative is part of the support led by the UAE, guided by its leadership’s directives to assist those in need and restore normalcy in the Gaza Strip.

In remarks made on World Refugee Day, observed annually on June 20, Sheikh Saqr highlighted a comprehensive range of relief projects that directly impact the daily lives of individuals, totaling nearly 116,000 diverse support units. He noted that the association proactively provided essential food supplies in the early days of the crisis, distributing over 32,000 food parcels to displaced families in camps and shelters.

He added that the assistance included the distribution of 10,000 blankets and warm clothing to help combat the cold waves affecting the region amidst a lack of heating sources.

Sheikh Saqr emphasized that the needs extended beyond food and clothing, particularly concerning children. “We supplied 1,728 cans of milk for children due to the complete scarcity of such products in local markets, in addition to providing 3,000 fully stocked school bags to support children returning to school despite their challenging circumstances,” he remarked.

Furthermore, he indicated that the organization did not overlook the water crisis, which has exacerbated the residents’ suffering. They have mobilized drinking water tankers in several areas and repaired various damaged wells to ensure that families have access to clean and safe water. Recently, the association opened donations for drilling 12 new wells to meet the needs of over 312,000 residents in Gaza.
