Security sources reported that on Tuesday, Syrian security forces detonated remnants of war during a training exercise in Damascus, resulting in loud explosions heard throughout the city.
A representative from the Syrian General Security Agency, which oversees many security matters, confirmed that the controlled explosion did not result in any casualties.
Residents in the western districts of the city heard a significant blast and observed a plume of smoke rising earlier in the day.
