U.S. President Donald Trump condemned the violation of a ceasefire today, stating, “I’m not happy with Iran, but honestly, I’m not satisfied with Israel either.”
This statement followed the ceasefire announced last night after several days of intense airstrikes between Tehran and Tel Aviv.
In posts on his platform “Truth Social,” Trump warned Israel, saying, “Do not drop those bombs… If you do, it will be a severe violation,” and urged them to return their pilots to base immediately.
While declaring a complete ceasefire in what he termed the “12-Day War,” he reiterated, “Iran’s nuclear capabilities are over and they will not rebuild their nuclear program ever again,” but he expressed continued dissatisfaction with the actions of both Israel and Iran.
Trump remarked that “things are improving in the Middle East,” praising Israel for executing their mission today, yet he stressed the necessity for them to maintain calm and adhere to the agreement.
Furthermore, he expressed discontent with the media, labeling CNN and other “fake news” outlets as “failures,” critiquing their reports regarding the strike on Iran, which he claimed fully destroyed Iranian nuclear capabilities.
He characterized the actions of both parties as inconsistent with the ceasefire terms, calling for “maintaining calm and not violating it,” while emphasizing America’s role as a guarantor of stability in the region and the need to avoid any further escalation.
These remarks from Trump come amid rising security tensions, alongside diplomatic efforts to solidify the ceasefire, following days of conflicting statements about the details of the truce and the commitment of both sides.
