Dubai Draws 8.68 Million Global Tourists in the Initial Five Months of 2025

Dubai welcomed 8.68 million international travelers from January to May 2025, showing a 7% rise compared to 8.12 million in the same timeframe in 2024, as indicated by the recent statistics from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

In May alone, the city drew in 1.53 million international visitors, as highlighted in the Tourism Performance Report January – May 2025.

Western Europe was the predominant source market with 1.917 million visitors, making up 22% of the total. Following closely was Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Eastern Europe, which together contributed 1.396 million tourists (16%).

International Visitors from Asia and MENA Region

South Asia ranked third with 1.242 million visitors (14%), while the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region accounted for 1.275 million (15%).

Visitors from the Middle East and North Africa numbered 989,000 (11%), and Northeast and Southeast Asia contributed 771,000 tourists (9%).

The Americas added 601,000 visitors (7%), while Africa and Australia brought in 346,000 (4%) and 141,000 (2%) respectively.

Dubai’s Hotel Inventory

As of May 2025, Dubai’s hotel offering expanded to 825 properties, providing a total of 153,356 rooms, an increase from 822 hotels and 150,202 rooms in May 2024.

The average occupancy rate of hotels rose to 83%, up from 81% in the same period last year. Total occupied room nights reached 19.09 million, representing a 4% increase from 18.34 million in 2024.

Travelers stayed an average of 3.8 nights per visit. The average daily room rate increased to Dhs620, a 5% rise from Dhs590 the previous year.

Furthermore, revenue per available room (RevPAR) also saw a 7% increase, reaching Dhs513, compared to Dhs478 during the same period in 2024.
