President Donald Trump announced the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Iran, disclosing that a complete ceasefire agreement was reached between both nations effective from 4 AM GMT today.

In a post on his social media platform, Trump stated, “Israel agreed to a comprehensive ceasefire within 12 hours while Iran consented to one within 6 hours.”

He continued, “The official end of the 12-day conflict will occur after 24 hours.”

Trump expressed, “We prevented a war that could have spanned years.”

He emphasized that, “If the conflict had persisted, it would have led to devastation in the region.”

He congratulated both nations, Israel and Iran, for their capability, courage, and wisdom to conclude what could be termed the twelve-day war.

He concluded his post with, “God bless Israel, Iran, and the Middle East.”

In Iran’s initial response to Trump’s tweets, a government official stated that Iran “agreed to a ceasefire with Israel through Qatari mediation,” as reported by Reuters.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates condemned the attack by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatari sovereignty and airspace, as well as a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. The UAE firmly rejected any aggression threatening Qatar’s security and undermining regional stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed full solidarity with Qatar and reiterated its unwavering support for actions that ensure the safety and security of its citizens and residents.

They stressed the need for an immediate halt to military escalation, warning that continued aggressive actions could jeopardize regional security and lead to catastrophic consequences for international peace and stability.

The ministry called for diplomatic solutions and good neighborly principles, indicating that serious dialogue is the only way to overcome current crises and maintain regional security, stability, and peace.

Iran had launched a missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar yesterday, marking an unprecedented escalation that threatens to plunge the region into deeper instability. This action was a retaliatory measure in response to U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities, prompting Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq to close their airspace as a precautionary measure.

Qatar condemned the Iranian attack on its air base as a severe violation of its sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter, asserting that Qatari air defenses successfully thwarted the attack and intercepted the missiles, while affirming its “right to respond directly.”

In the aftermath of the Iranian strikes, a wave of Arab and international condemnations followed, with Jassem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, denouncing the rocket attack on Qatari territory, reiterating that this act constitutes a grievous violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of all member states, emphasizing the indivisibility of GCC member security.

American officials confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries among U.S. forces.

They also noted that the Iranian attack was carried out using short and medium-range ballistic missiles.

President Trump recently conveyed optimism for forthcoming global peace in a message shared via “Truth Social,” shortly following the Iranian attack.

He stated, “Congratulations to the world; it’s time for peace.”

He mentioned that the Iranian assault was “extremely weak,” and that U.S. forces defended against it competently.

He clarified that 14 missiles were fired during the attack, with 13 intercepted; one missile was allowed to pass as it was heading toward a “safe area,” insisting that the attack resulted in no significant injuries or damages to U.S. personnel.

Trump remarked, “I am pleased to inform you that all Americans are safe, and no injuries occurred; furthermore, Iran has ultimately given up everything,” expressing hope that these events mark the beginning of an “end to hatred” in the region.

He thanked Iran for its “early notification” of the attack, which mitigated potential casualties, suggesting that Iran might now be able to pursue peace and harmony, and indicated that he would encourage Israel to adopt a similar approach towards “regional peace and harmony.”

An official from the U.S. administration indicated that President Trump was present in the operations room alongside the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff when the Iranian attack occurred on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

In another context, President Trump expressed yesterday his desire for oil prices to remain low, amid concerns that escalating tensions in the Middle East could lead to sudden price hikes.
