As regional tensions rise, the UAE has facilitated the evacuation of several of its citizens and residents from Iran, according to reports from the UAE’s state news agency, WAM.
Coordinated with Iranian officials, these evacuations demonstrate the UAE’s “unrelenting commitment to ensuring the safety of its nationals and residents,” alongside its agility in emergency responses, as stated by WAM.
The report confirms that the UAE effectively carried out evacuation missions, which were organized in collaboration with Iranian authorities to guarantee the secure return of those affected.
This development arises amidst increasing instability in the area, following a surge in hostilities between Israel and Iran, leading to widespread air travel restrictions and flight cancellations throughout the Middle East.
UAE’s Commitment to Promoting Peace and Stability
Alongside the evacuation efforts, the UAE is enhancing its diplomatic interactions with both regional and global partners to help alleviate rising tensions.
The UAE is engaged in “intensive communications and diplomatic discussions,” grounded in its belief that diplomatic dialogue is the sole viable route to lasting peace.
The report highlights that these actions form part of the UAE’s broader foreign policy objective of “promoting stability, justice, and prosperity for the peoples of the region.”
