After discussions and the endorsement of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, announced a series of modifications to the UAE government today.
UAE Launches Phase 2 of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Initiative
In his announcement, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid declared: “With the support of my brother, the President, we reveal today significant changes within the UAE government: the creation of a Ministry of Foreign Trade, with Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi appointed as its leader, along with the rebranding of the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, under the direction of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri.”
He further noted: “Starting in January 2026, the National Artificial Intelligence System will be integrated as an advisory member of the Council of Ministers, the Ministerial Development Council, and all boards of federal agencies and government enterprises. This initiative aims to assist in decision-making, perform real-time analysis, provide technical guidance, and improve the effectiveness of government strategies across various sectors.”
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid wrapped up with the observation: “The globe is experiencing profound changes—scientifically, economically, and socially. Our objective is to prepare for the future now, ensuring sustained prosperity and a dignified existence for generations to come.”
