The Court of Cassation in Sharjah held its inaugural session yesterday, where it issued rulings on several civil and criminal appeals, as well as addressed requests for stays of execution. This marks the commencement of its operations under Law No. (7) of 2025, which governs the judicial authority in the Emirate of Sharjah, enacted by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The first session was chaired by Judge Ahmad Abdullah Al Mila, the President of the Court of Cassation, alongside judges Sabri Shams Al Din, Dawood Abu Al Shawarib, and Muftah Saleem Saad Laabidi.
Judge Ahmad Abdullah Al Mila expressed that the initiation of the Court of Cassation’s judicial functions in Sharjah is a significant milestone in the enhancement of the judicial system in the emirate. It embodies the visionary leadership’s commitment to establishing a comprehensive judicial environment grounded in the principles of justice and the rule of law.
The President of the Court of Cassation also acknowledged the institutional support and the cohesive justice system in the Emirate of Sharjah.
