Egyptian Prosecution Investigates Incident of Ramses Central Building Fire

The Public Prosecution in Egypt released a statement today regarding the Ramesses Central fire, indicating that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the blaze at the country’s main telecommunications building.

The statement detailed that the prosecution was notified of a significant fire at the Ramesses Central building operated by the Egyptian Telecommunications Company. It also mentioned that the Chief Prosecutor of North Cairo, along with a team from the Public Prosecution, arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.

The announcement, posted on the prosecution’s official website, indicated that another team of prosecutors visited nearby hospitals to gather testimonies from the injured, which have so far numbered twenty-one.

Additionally, the statement noted that the prosecution examined the remains of four deceased individuals and appointed forensic experts to conduct external examinations to ascertain the cause and circumstances of their deaths, along with collecting DNA samples.

The investigation is ongoing to uncover the reasons behind the fire and to assess the compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as fire protection standards.

Earlier today, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that the fire incident at Ramesses Central resulted in four fatalities and 27 injuries.

Furthermore, the Egyptian stock exchange suspended trading on Tuesday to protect the interests of all parties involved and to ensure fairness among traders.
