The History Academy, a pioneering digital platform dedicated to creating meaningful content about the history of the Arab region, has been launched under the Visionaries Group, the largest platform for content management and development in the UAE. This initiative emphasizes the UAE’s commitment to promoting Arab cultural content and expanding its presence in the global digital landscape.
The Academy has unveiled its inaugural training program, the “Historical Content Creators” initiative, hosted at the Influencers Hub, which will continue until the end of July. The program aims to equip a select group of talented content creators with the skills to produce educational historical content in an engaging modern style that inspires Arabic generations and strengthens Arab cultural identity.
The “Historical Content Creators” program is designed to attract a diverse array of talented Arab content creators, including university students, creative influencers, and writers and journalists passionate about narrating history and interested in the history of the Arab region.
During the promotional campaign launched in May, the program received approximately 1,000 applications from 20 countries, ultimately accepting 65 candidates from across the Arab world after a rigorous selection process involving multiple interviews conducted by a panel of digital content experts.
The launch event of the History Academy and the “Historical Content Creators” program was attended by His Excellency Muhammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, His Excellency Saeed Al Atyar, the media office head for the UAE government, along with several prominent creative content creators from the region. His Excellency Al Gergawi stated that the UAE, under the wise leadership, views history as a crucial element in solidifying national identity and fostering belonging, serving as an essential foundation for connecting generations with their cultural heritage.
He emphasized that narrating history is pivotal in building beacons that illuminate past experiences, guiding the journey of civilizational progress with clarity and purpose. The establishment of the History Academy is seen as a strategic move to leverage the expertise of the UAE in digital media to support influencers in creating meaningful and inspiring content about the history of the UAE and the region, thereby amplifying the impact of our cultural messages in the global arena.
He highlighted the importance of training historical content creators, as they serve as ambassadors of contemporary spirit and creativity in reviving the past, accurately presenting its truths and dispelling misconceptions. History is fundamental in cultivating a collective awareness among generations and is a powerful driver for nations toward civilizational and humanitarian advancement.
The Historical Content Creators program aims to document the region’s history, foster community dialogue about historical issues and collective memory, and reveal lesser-known aspects of Arab history to the Arab audiences. The program encompasses several key themes that will be covered over four weeks, including creative storytelling, scriptwriting, videography, and editing using mobile phones and digital applications, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence.
Strategies for social media platforms, photography, multimedia photography using mobile devices, and the use of artificial intelligence and ChatGPT in content creation will also be covered, alongside strategies and best practices in social media, digital marketing basics, paid campaigns, government messaging, and content creation.
