The death toll from the devastating floods that hit Texas has risen to a minimum of 120, as reported by local authorities on Wednesday.
Authorities confirmed that at least 96 fatalities occurred in Kerr County alone, with 36 children among the deceased, many of whom were attending a girls’ summer camp.
Additionally, over 160 individuals remain unaccounted for.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated that more than 2,200 people are still spread across various affected areas.
In a statement, Abbott noted, “The flooding conditions caused by last week’s storms continue to impact multiple regions throughout the state, including Central Texas, the Hill Country, Big Country, and the Concho Valley.
