Etihad Enhances US Route System by Introducing Service to Atlanta

Etihad Airways has made its inaugural landing in Atlanta, enhancing its presence in the United States and linking the vibrant cultural and economic center of the Southeastern U.S. with Abu Dhabi and other international destinations.

This event signifies another important step in Etihad’s expansion efforts within North America.

On July 2, the airline’s first flight from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This makes Atlanta the fifth U.S. city in Etihad’s network, joining the ranks of New York City, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston.

Advantages for Travelers Departing from Zayed International Airport

Passengers departing from Abu Dhabi can take advantage of the unique US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility available at Zayed International Airport—the only such facility in the region.

This preclearance allows travelers to complete U.S. immigration and customs procedures before they even board their flight, enabling them to land in the U.S. as domestic passengers and significantly reducing wait times upon arrival.

New Route Reflects Increased Interest

The introduction of this new route addresses the rising demand for travel between the UAE and the U.S., serving business professionals, tourists, and individuals visiting family and friends.

CEO Antonoaldo Neves commented, “Atlanta is a vibrant metropolis with significant cultural, economic, and aviation importance. This new route improves access to the southeastern United States while providing seamless connectivity throughout the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Asia.

“With the U.S. preclearance at Zayed International Airport, our passengers can enjoy the comfort of arriving in Atlanta as domestic travelers. We are thrilled to extend our award-winning service to those traveling to and from Atlanta.”

Announcement of New European Routes

Additionally, the airline has revealed plans to launch three new seasonal destinations to broaden its global network.

Starting in December, Etihad will introduce seasonal flights to Kazan, Russia, and plans to add routes to Krakow, Poland, and Salalah, Oman during the summer of 2026.

These new connections provide travelers with more chances to explore remarkable cities throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
