The Ministry of Justice has reported a significant increase in the progress of digital transformation, noting that the proportion of remote court sessions reached an impressive 99.96% in 2024, with only 33 in-person sessions held. More than 89,000 remote court hearings were conducted during this period.
Moreover, the Ministry has set a goal to eliminate 100% of bureaucratic obstacles in its services by 2026, adopting a “zero-bureaucracy” culture as an overarching strategy that has influenced its legislative framework, systems, and digital services.
The ministry also highlighted that it has over 50 specialists dedicated to reducing bureaucracy, ready to provide technical and consultative support to all federal entities.
With a total of 99.96% of court sessions conducted remotely, the Ministry’s efforts to expand remote litigation capabilities underscore its commitment to facilitating electronic transactions and utilizing video communication tools, adhering to established legal protocols.
In a progressive legislative and judicial environment, the ministry actively contributes to enhancing its role in achieving efficient justice, aligning with governmental directives and supporting the country’s competitiveness on a global scale.
First Cycle
Regarding notable achievements in the first cycle of the “Zero-Bureaucracy” program, the Ministry of Justice indicated that it reviewed 70% of its legislation at the program’s inception, which subsequently increased to 90% following the adoption of the zeroing methodology.
At the same time, it successfully reduced transaction processing times by equivalent to over 5,000 working hours. This was accomplished by decreasing the number of procedures by more than 480, eliminating over 200 documents and more than 60 requirements.
Throughout the program, the Ministry achieved a series of significant accomplishments and initiatives that strengthened its leadership position in the legal and judicial fields at both the local and international levels, distinguished by launching various transformative projects and unique initiatives that enhanced the judicial system.
Additionally, through this project, the Ministry received the top award for the best team within the UAE government for zeroing bureaucracy, recognizing the entity that made the most substantial impact in streamlining its procedures.
