The Dubai Municipality has joined forces with Parkin, the leading provider of public parking facilities and services in Dubai, by signing a memorandum of understanding. This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in enhancing the municipality’s public parking services, improving operational efficiency, and creating an optimal regulatory and technical environment to elevate the quality of services available to the community.
Present at the signing ceremony were Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Ahmad Hashem Bahrozyan, Chairman of Parkin. The agreement was signed by Badr Anouhi, Executive Director of the Public Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin.
The memorandum outlines various areas of collaboration between the two parties, including the development of standards for land designated for parking, and streamlining the issuance of permits and regulatory approvals for operational and trial initiatives.
Additionally, it covers the provision of planning data and relevant geographical information about parking, enhancing the exchange of expertise to establish standards for the use of private lands as parking, thus improving service quality, supporting strategic plans, and managing Dubai Municipality’s free parking through the company.
Furthermore, the memorandum stipulates the exploration of investment opportunities for establishing and operating multi-storey buildings and parking facilities, alongside examining the feasibility of managing existing designated parking areas under the municipality.
Future cooperation opportunities will include managing event parking through traffic management services, vehicle parking, providing monitors and field supervisors, and offering automatic payment solutions at facility entrances and exits.
Comprehensive Infrastructure
Badr Anouhi, Executive Director of the Public Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality, stated that this memorandum aligns with the municipality’s efforts to develop a comprehensive infrastructure for its public parking in Dubai, in line with the city’s vision for a smart and sustainable future.
