The Israeli military announced yesterday that it has targeted and destroyed positions belonging to Hezbollah in Lebanon during “specific and focused operations.” According to officials, intelligence assessments identified weaponry and infrastructure linked to the group in various locations in southern Lebanon.
The military stated that it is conducting “specific and focused” ground operations in southern Lebanon, with the declared objective of dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure, as reported by spokesperson Avichai Adraee.
The spokesperson shared on X platform, “Based on intelligence and surveillance of Hezbollah’s weaponry and terrorist infrastructure in multiple areas of southern Lebanon, troops were deployed to carry out specific and focused operations aimed at destroying these assets and preventing Hezbollah’s repositioning in the region.”
Adraee also posted several nighttime videos from southern Lebanon, including footage of soldiers moving on foot, one titled “Focused Night Operation Conducted by the Oded Brigade (9) in Southern Lebanon.”
Reports indicate that an operation in the Jabal Balat area led to the discovery of weapon caches and multiple Hezbollah sites, all of which were destroyed. During another operation, soldiers found hidden arms, including machine guns and explosives, as well as an underground weapons depot in dense terrain near the town of Labouna.
Previously, on Tuesday, Israel carried out an unprecedented airstrike claiming to target Hamas elements in northern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 13 others from shelling a vehicle near the city of Tripoli.
