Abdul Rahman Al-Harib: On “Union Day,” We Renew Our Commitment to Follow the Path of the Founding Fathers

Abdulrahman Al-Harb, the Director General of the Financial Control Authority in Dubai, emphasized that on July 18 each year, the United Arab Emirates commemorates “Union Day.” This day signifies a pivotal moment in the nation’s history when the founding fathers, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the rulers of the emirates, gathered to sign the “Union Document” and approve the constitution of the UAE, marking the establishment of a united nation that thrives on determination, vision, and ambition.

This historic meeting in 1971 laid the cornerstone for the federation, establishing the foundations of a modern state equipped to face challenges and shape the future. Thanks to the wisdom and foresight of the founding leaders, and their unwavering belief that unity is the key to comprehensive development, the UAE has enhanced its standing both regionally and internationally.

On this historic day, we reflect on this significant milestone that symbolizes our renewed commitment to the values and principles of the union. It is a cherished national occasion in which we honor the sacrifices and efforts of the founding fathers, reaffirming our dedication to the country’s core principles, strengthening our national unity, and preserving our historical achievements, ensuring that the UAE’s flag remains high, a symbol of honor, dignity, and sovereignty.

This beloved occasion reflects our leadership’s dedication to nurturing national identity, instilling loyalty and belonging among future generations, and showcasing the story of the union as a source of inspiration and a continuous driving force for progress and sustainable development.

On this glorious day, we renew our loyalty and allegiance to our wise leadership, drawing strength and determination from the legacy of the founders to exert all sincere efforts in maintaining the UAE’s pioneering status and ensuring a bright future for generations to come.

We pray that Almighty God continues to bless our beloved homeland with security and safety, safeguards our wise leadership, and grants the people of the UAE continued progress and prosperity, ensuring that the UAE remains a nation of peace and humanity, a shining example of unity and leadership.
