Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah: “Union Day” as the Strong Foundation for the Establishment of the UAE and the Beginning of Prosperity and Sustainable Development

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, emphasized that “Union Day” embodies the spirit and values of the United Arab Emirates. This day commemorates the significant initial steps and the solid foundation laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow rulers, may their souls rest in peace, which led to the establishment of the UAE and the beginning of a journey towards prosperity and sustainable development across the nation.

In his remarks for this national occasion, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah noted that on this day, we celebrate the Union Document and the Constitution of the UAE. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and efforts of our founding fathers, who dedicated themselves to achieving this historic union. We also share with the current and future generations the story of how the hearts, minds, and limitless aspirations of our people united, paving the way for the ambitious vision of our founding rulers to guide us towards continued civilization, progress, prosperity, security, and stability.

He added that the signing of the Union Accord represents an everlasting moment in our nation’s history and a day that instills pride and honor in all of us. On this day, the collective will united to establish the Constitution of an exceptional state rooted in values of wisdom, justice, and love, prioritizing human development and crafting a brighter, better future for the children of this land.

His Highness stated: “On the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the signing of the Union Accord, we renew our commitment to move forward in accordance with the union values instilled by our founding fathers. We pledge our loyalty to this homeland, ensuring it remains strong and proud, much like the pillars of the union, while upholding our national constants, protecting our nation’s achievements, and doubling efforts to enhance the quality of life for our citizens and continue the march of renaissance, development, and prosperity with full determination.”

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah extended heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, may God protect him, as well as to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God preserve him, along with fellow rulers and members of the Supreme Council, and to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. He also conveyed his best wishes to the cherished people of the UAE and all residents of this blessed land, praying that God continues to grant the UAE safety, security, prosperity, and development.
